Health coaching

Health coaching is a collaborative approach that empowers individuals to make informed and healthy decisions, aiding them in developing and sustaining behaviours that enhance their well-being. Through conversation, goal-setting, and accountability, a health coach guides and supports their clients in achieving specific health objectives.

  4. Positive Psychology: A lot of health coaching techniques are grounded in positive psychology, recognising and building upon a client’s strengths, motivations, and aspirations.

How Health Coaching works

  1. Initial Assessment: An introductory session where the coach gets to know the client’s current health status, lifestyle, objectives, and potential barriers to change.
  2. Goal Setting: Together, the client and coach set realistic, clear, and measurable goals. These goals are periodically revisited and adjusted if necessary.
  3. Regular Sessions: These sessions (which can be adapted to the client and situation needs twice weekly, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) provide an opportunity to discuss progress, address challenges, learn new strategies, and maintain accountability.
  4. Accountability: The coach serves as an accountability partner, supporting the client in adhering to their action plan and making consistent progress towards their health objectives.
  5. Feedback and Adjustment: As the coaching progresses, goals and strategies might be adjusted based on the client’s feedback, successes, and challenges.
